The comfort, the location, the staff and the food. An altogether wonderful experience
Overall: The hotel was luxurious and from arriving late at night with a member of staff waiting to assist with the luggage to leaving the next morning was a wonderful experience. The staff were attentive without being over facing and there were lots of small touches like serving the desert in the room and the bottled water on leaving that added to the experience. We would certainly chose the hotel for a longer stay. (97208256)
The standard of accommodation was very high, beautiful rooms with a real wow factor, scrupulously clean - immaculate in every way.
Its a struggle to find anything I disliked, but I suppose a lift to the third floor would have been desirable, but I rather doubt that a lift would be possible in a chateau of this layout.
Overall: This was a small family run hotel, slightly off the beaten track. With Sat-Nav and by looking carefully for the signs, we found the hotel (buried as it was in the French Countryside) with no problems whatsoever. The pictures on the website don't really do the place justice, manicured lawns, stunning views from every room, a swimming pool and a cosy, informal atmosphere inside the chateau. The staff were exceptionally courteous & efficient, and humoured me in my schoolboy french. The restaurant had a country feel with an atmospheric log fire, the menu was comprehensive (but not haute-cuisine, thank goodness) and used local produce and recipes. We had a great meal - even my daughter, who is suspicious of all things french, enjoyed herself at the table. Our overnight visit was all too fleeting, and I am sure we will return soon. (99174848)
