very nice and comfortable room, had everything we needed

we were mislead, probably by the website from which we booked the room. we intended to get the kyriad in near the old port of marseille and ended up very far out. the location was why we would not stay there again.

Clean, comfortable bed

Confusing restaurant, room smelled strange, and there was nowhere near or in the hotel to buy drinks after a certain hour. Very hard to find the hotel by foot.

proximity to event location

Overall: good for value  (97780181)

It was inexpensive, staff happy to help with taxi's and directions at any time of the night, bathroom was in good condition - which we find is often not the case for budget hotels, free wifi and computer access in the lobby

smoking in the rooms - the rooms have a strong smell of old smoke

Overall: ask if there are non-smoking rooms  (97686863)

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Restaurant rated extremely highly for this level of hotel - breakfast was the best so far in our 2 months of travel!!! Free internet was a wonderful bonus>.

Probably not the best location for some leisure travellers however we found the metro easy to use and coped.

Overall: We had read reviews on the internet and were aware that perhaps the location wasnt ideal for leisure purposes, however at the end of a busy and hectic day in the port, we found it to be an ideal retreat out of the hustle of the city. Very impressed with the restaurant decor, food quality and variety on offer. Staff were delightful.  (99793573)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
