We have stayed there a few times in the last 15yrs. Although my wife walks now with the aid of a stick, knowing the hotel, she was confident she could manage the stairs to a first-floor room; however, the hotel went to considerable trouble to arrange a ground floor room for us on checking in. There was a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. The hotel took an unannounced power-cut at breakfast time in its stride. At the time we were there there was a free wine-tasting most evenings, also they willingly reserved tables at local restaurants for dinner. Overall, a pleasant family-run establishment, proud to represent their locality and to help others get to know it.

Overall: A very well run hotel, but not obtrusively so. One was obviously free to linger and use facilities such as the terrace and swimming-pool as one pleased. Staff were universally pleasant and helpful. (107827422)
