friendly staff, good location, fair price, good, new & clean bathroom, air-condition

small room, not very clean bed-clothes

Overall: nice stay, good choice for weekend break, good for easy access to city-centre  (108401570)

3.9 / 5 3.9 / 5 Michael [Tadley, GB] on 14/09/2008 (Mature couple)

Clean and well serviced, Helpful Staff who all spoke good English, Modern and uncluttered décor to a good standard, Superb view (room 558) over parisian roofs to the dome of Val de Grâce, Easy to find, excellent position for acess to the Quartier Latin and to the Metro (Luxembourg on RER line B - only 3 stops from the Gare du Nord)

Traffic Noise (normal for Paris), Very poor soundproofing between rooms - would have been a nightmare if we had had noisy neighbours, No public access to the internet ( kit out of service) in spite of advertising, Lift slow for the number of rooms served, Air conditioning apparently not functioning - it wasn't tested by the weather we had but the bathroom didn't clear of steam unless the window was opened.

Overall: An older hotel which has been modernised to a high standard without losing its Parisien ambiance. Very easy to access from the Gare du Nord and well placed for the Quartier Latin, the Boulevard St Michel and the Jardins du Luxembourg. Close to many good, reasonably priced restaurants, excellent bookshops and quite a lot of stunning 20th century architecture - many of which are faculty buildings of the Sorbonne. Good value for money in today's market. Bon hôtel d'un décor moderniste. Chaleureux et bien située avec acces au Quartier Latin et ses restaurants. Au Marché actuel un bon rapport qualité-prix.  (107145386)

Location, Price, Modern Rooms

No Bar.

Overall: Great little hotel in an excellent area, highly recommended.  (97055333)

Room had lovely view of the Pantheon, a small balcony, was near to Gare du Nord for Eurostar and the lively area of Rue Mufftard. The bed was the best we've ever had in a hotel and the room had AC.

The only criticism is the wardrobe is black inside and out and with not very bright room lighting, it was hard to identify clothes - i nearly went out in my wifes coat!!!

Great Location, Friendly Staff, Clean Room, with very comfortable bed.

The only minor complaints were lack of a view from room, lack of luggage storage, but these did not affect our stay.

Overall: Overall this is an excellent hotel. A comfortable room, in an excellent location at a reasonable price, what else can you ask for?  (99646400)

4.3 / 5 4.3 / 5 Anonymous on 14/06/2007 (Mature couple)

good location, friendly staff, quiet

no mirror in bedroom, limited space for clothes, bathrooom rather small

Overall: our stay was better than expected. The hotel is of a very good standard for the price and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a summer stay and picked the hotel for its location and air-conditioned rooms. We were not disappointed.  (99738523)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
