Staff were on the whole very friendly but a couple of the serving staff were not. Room was clean and hotel was quiet.

Breakfast was awful. Rolls and croissants were stale and coffee was not fresh. Bad experience on leaving hotel as we were in a rush to leave. The receptionist was not in the hotel and the only person we could talk to was the waitress who had no idea of how the bill was made up. We were overcharged and the whole bill was completely muddled. It took ages to sort it out when the receptionist finally did arrive which delayed us about 40 mins. Also we were charged for some beer which we had sent back as it tasted awful. The receptionist refused to accept there was anything wrong with it and we had to pay for it. It was a shame that this was the note on which we left the hotel. 4.50 euros for a cup of coffee also seemed very expensive

Overall: Our experience on leaving the hotel tainted an otherwise pleasant stay. Food was overpriced and there was much better value restuarants to be found in Les Eyzies  (97859317)

My wife and I were only going to stay for one night, but ended up staying an extra night because we fell in love with the town and loved our hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate at the hotel's restaurant both nights and the food was great. The region is known for the fois gras and truffles, so you will definitely eat well here. The orange-chocolate souffle is their best dessert.

The only bad thing I can think of is the shower. You will get water all over the bathroom.

Overall: Overall, we had a great time staying here. We will definitely come back.  (97056924)

Its location and very attentive staff

The shower arrangement in the bathroom. The shower head should be able to be hooked up at head height.

Overall: I personnally was very happy but some of my froends would have liked a larger dinner menu. Not everybody likes cheese, duck and liver dishes. A better notice for locating the hotel would have helped us find it more easily.  (97341258)

The location was perfect, the middle of the village and right next to a river.

It was a Saturday night and like all the other restaurants the hotels restaurant stopped serving before 10 o'clock, however the hotel staff went out of their way to find us somewhere to eat. The supperior room was only slightly bigger but no more spectacular than a standard room and had the same view. This was not value for money.

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
