Room recently refurbished. Nice location. 15 minutes walk into Bayeux. Quiet. Plenty of car parking.

No tea/coffee making facilities in room. No restaurant in hotel Breakfast quite pricey at 12 euros & rather boring by 3rd day.

Overall: Nice hotel - quite central for visiting Bayeux, the coast & Normandy 2nd World War sites. Stayed 3 nights in superior room.  (108377569)

Was a chateaux but we were in the stable annexe which was like an office very modern basic clinical- probably ok if you were expecting a "travelodge" .The room was on 2 levels with a wobbly staircase which would be dangerous for the very young or old. Main bed on top floor ...only toilet on ground floor so not really ensuite.Large moth in the bed ! No restaurant and so have to walk into town to eat.breakfast was v poor one basket of cold bread for the whole family .choice of 2 cereals from plastic container with jug of room temperature milk. some ham and chese.not worth 12 euros each. Also not really a Bar just a large room and had to ask at reception for a drink no nice atmosphere not even some soothing music. Supposed to have wifi but of course that did not work in the annexe. We did request a room in main chateaux or a refund ...they couldnt or wouldnt oblige.

Overall: Poor.  (108430087)

Fantastic location with beautiful gardens and a river with ducks and swans. We were upgraded (at no extra cost) to an appartment with 2 bedrooms and a spacious bathroom. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast.

A good 15/20 minute walk into town - we didn't mind this - but if you don't have a car and dislike walking then this is not the place for you! The decor was a little uninspiring - with a makeover it could look fantastic - but it is a 3-star hotel after all and it didn't affect the quality of our stay there. A restaurant would be a good idea.

Overall: I enjoyed the tranquility and the lovely setting of this hotel - and would definately return if I were travelling by car.  (107769522)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
