Fantastic location, friendly and efficient staff, lovely hotel

Air conditioning was not effective enough

Excellent location in easy walking distance of everything yet quiet at night, parking available at a small supplement at the hotel, spacious room. Our room overlooked the car park/small garden, and over the harbour beyond, but most rooms overlook the internal courtyward - not so nice.

Although modernised, room a bit tired - but the good much outweighted the bad.

Overall: We felt it was an excellent choice of hotel for its location, but it lacked much atmosphere, despite being a beautiful old building.  (107717814)

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
