Fresh, clean, spacious, newly decorated, lovely private terrace with view of the sea, large comfortable bed.

Nothing at all.

Overall: An excellent place from which to visit Amalfi. 15 minute walk from the town, and although on a main road we did not get any problem from traffic noise. It was clean, bright, and newly decorated. My only slight criticism was that the breakfast area was a bit cold and impersonal, and the staff were not particularly warm/friendly - but maybe that was because we were English!  (97989153)

The hotel was recently renovated so I was very impressed with the good working order of all amenities. There was even a small bar fridge, which is a rare amenity in European hotels.

Overall: The experience overall was a 9 out of 10. We were given a wonderful dinner recommendation and even scored a lift from hotel management down to the town centre for it. Upon check out, we left our luggage with concierge to spend a couple of hours around town before heading home. As it turned out, it started to rain and we cut short our day trip and dashed back to the hotel to collect our luggage to depart early. The older concierge attendant was quite abrupt when we asked for a coffee (I was intending to pay for the coffee) and he answered that the machine was broken and was annoyed with us bringing our umbrellas into the reception area (for gods sake it was raining outside). He also shuffled us away from the couches because we 'were wet' and made us sit at the nearby dining tables. Apart from this post check out incident, I'd rate this hotel as a must stay. This is ofcourse in light of the fact that we got a 50% discount off our stay. Otherwise, I'll let you be the judge of whether its value for money. In saying that though, our balcony view overlooking the amalfi coastal waters was priceless!  (97715653)

Fantastic family run hotel, very clean and well presented. Recommend upgrading to a room with a view, as we did, spectacular.

Whilst understanding hoteliers reasons for restriction on bringing food and drinks in from outside, we found policing of this a bit over the top.

Overall: Dont be put off by thinking the hotel is too far out of the centre of Amalfi. An easy and scenic 10 minutes down the hill and your there and if you can't be bothered walking back, the bus for 1 euro runs regularly. We will stay there again when we get back to this area of Italy.  (97558927)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
