Lovely opulent rooms in a former palace.

Overall: This is a centrally located hotel (very near the train station) that has beautiful Baroque decoration. The rooms are not huge but have a grand feel due to their decor - lots of swirly gold mirrors and dark red swathed fabrics. The staff are very helpful and speak great English. It's excellent value for money.  (97573866)

It was very conveniently located, clean, nice size rooms and the staff were very helpful.

We had no problems but you have to walk up two big flights of stairs as there is no lift so could be a problem for those with lots of luggage. Traffic could be a problem for light sleepers but we found no problem once shutters were closed.

Overall: We enjoyed a very pleasant stay in this hotel and found it convenient for both the station and the main sights of Palermo. Our room was nice and spacious and there is a TV for anyone interested in Italian programmes. Breakfast was served at a bar just across the street and is the typical Italian fare of pastry and coffee or juice. Not sure if this would be a problem for non-Italian speakers, but as we speak the language we found it a nice start to the day to mix with the locals. The reception is manned 24 hrs/day and checking in and out was very efficient. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a reasonably priced place to stay.  (99008034)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
