The hospitality was exceptional. The owners could not have tried harder to accomodate our every need and were succesful in doing so each and every time. The accomodation was beautiul and kept spotless. The food was gorgeous. Extremely family orientated and accomodating. The flexibility offered by the staff was also wonderful allowing for the true relaxed holiday experience. I could go on and on about how absolutely wonderful our holiday at the Sotto Il Vulcano was, and this was so because of the owners/staff. So full of joy, passion and enthusiasm for their busines and the needs of their guests. Also they were able to speak very good English which is much appreciated when there is a lack of Italian speakers in the family (as with us).We are already looking in to times and flights to revisit again next summer. We think it will become a regular holiday for us. Highly reccommended to all.....

It was close to the region (Mount Etna) which we wanted to explore and also in walking distance to the bars and restaurants of the main town (Nicolosi)

the friendliness of the owners who made us feel very welcome and were clearly passionate about their region. it also had safe parking which is essential when you tour an island such as Sicily!
Overall: this hotel is great for 1 or 2 nights whilst visiting the Etna area and to escape the madness of Catania! the two owners really made this 1 nigth stay special (they even drove us to a local restaurant to ensure we wouldn't get lost) This was an unpretentious hotel with clean rooms and amazing views in a very pretty village. The quiet location, but close to the town for food. Friendly service.
Overall: The hotel was easy to find with lots of signs throughout the town. The area was tranquil with a good view of Mt Etna, but close to town so convenient for food in the evening. The best part was that the owners were incredibly friendly and spoke good English, they were extremely helpful. Their home squeezed blood orange juice at breakfast time is amazing!
