Our stay at the Eveline hotel was excellent all week. In our booking email, we had asked for a quiet room and upon arrival, we were told that the room we had been allocated was at the front and therefore near the road. However, we had the option of changing the following day for another room at the back. This we did and it was indeed much quieter. Fellow guests did mention to us about the noisy road. The first evening we were delighted to be presented with sparkling wine and snacks, compliments of the management. The breakfasts were excellent and the lady in charge, Laura, could not do enough for us. The staff were always ready to help, very friendly and attentive. They spoke good English, but were more than happy for us to practise our Italian. Our last evening we found a box of marrons glaces for us to take home - again compliments of the hotel. The position of the hotel was near the station and so convenient for rail travellers and about 500m from the marina and promenade. The town centre and restaurants were a short walk away too.

The parking outside was up a narrow side street and proved difficult at times. Front bedrooms were subject to busy road noise. Having paid our bill, as we were leaving, the reception told us that they had made a mistake with our bill. As it was November 1st and a festival day, we had to pay another 20 euros for the previous night. This we did, although we were not very happy about this as it was their mistake and we had already settled the bill for a whole week's stay. It seemed a little petty, especially as the mistake was theirs and not ours. However, we did not want to leave on a sour note - although more difficult guests would surely have refused!

Excellent friendly English speaking staff, good breakfast, clean and with good character

Traffic outside noisy day and night

Superb attention to detail in the hotel. The staff could not have been nicer. The breakfast was wonderful. Absolutely fantastic all round.
