Overall: Excellent (97064249)
Lovely hotel, comfortable room, superb staff, great location
Difficult to find even with sat nav! But do persist. It's worth it. A little noisy as the rooms look onto the central courtyard, so people arriving late at night - just talking - could be heard. But not much noise from the street, so fairly quiet for Spain city centre! No breakfast, but there is a coffee and drinks / snack machine and loads of bars round about for a light breakfast for 2-3 Euros early morning.
Overall: Lovely renovated old building. Reception staff could not be more obliging. Walked with us to the carpark (extra cost), phoned to make enquiries about flamenco event, just brilliant service. Lovely room, great bathroom, everything provided. Beautiful patio with tinkling fountain. 10 minutes walk to the Mesquite, but right in the middle of bars and shops of all kinds. Don't go to the nearest famous expensive touristy old tapas bar - go round the corner to Las Espuelas for half the price, twice the quantity and friendly staff! Cordoba is fantastic - so much to do and see. This hotel is perfect for an inexpensive break near the centre. A real gem. (97850946)
Charming hotel, clean and very convenient to city centre.
Breakfast is in a nearby cafe, with whom the hotel have an arrangement. I did not think the cafe was very clean. Also, a water vending machine in the hotel would have been useful.
Overall: Hotel San Miguel is a charming little hotel which is located in the heart of the smart shopping/commercial district in Cordoba. (It is extremely convenient, being just off Plaza de Tendillas.) In the evening, we found that the Plaza San Miguel is full of tapas bars - which was great. The hotel itself had a lovely patio, clean rooms (which were a good size)etc. It is a good 15 minutes walk from the Juderia/Mezquita from the touring point of view, but as I wasn't impressed with the Juderia (too tacky), this made little difference in the evenings. The tapas bars beside the hotel were great! (99326413)
Traditional-style building very tastefully and ergonomically converted to a hotel. Staff were friendly. Whole place was spotless.
Not a lot. No porn channel(!) but then this is probably more family than business hotel. Internet access did not allow printing-out of pages. Room a bit small. No minibar. Not sure if 24-hour access.
Overall: This newly-converted hotel is simply awesome for the tourist visitor and I would say is frankly unfair competition for any other local hoteliers. Main points: It's a beautiful conversion retaining the original typical style of the building. Despite this, the rooms have the quality of a purpose-built hotel, with fully-fitted bathroom and digital climate control. It's dirt-cheap (50 e's for a twin inc brekkie). Location is ace - staggering distance from the oldest (quality) taverna in town. And in a quiet pedestrianised area. Staff are friendly and helpful. They don't speak english so you can practice your spanish on them -they're very patient. Don't expect a palace -room sizes are small and there's no bar or room service. And they don't give you a front door key so you may have to wake the staff up if you get back late. But if you want a modest but memorable experience, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. (99214637)
Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.
Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.
All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.
48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
