It's cheap and a good value if you're young, healthy, and demand nothing from a hotel except a decent place to sleep. (90% of the guests when we were there were young--under 25--backpackers who mostly stay in youth hostals.) There is free Internet available (on the top floor) but one of the computers didn't work and the other two were slow and virus-laden (beware!).
There's no elevator and it's a five-story hotel with one very narrow and winding staircase. Rooms are EXTREMELY basic but clean and usable. TV is a joke: 3-4 Greek channels with poor reception and two soft-porn channels with excellent reception. The hotel is in a semi-run-down part of town with nothing of interest nearby except for the Metro which will take you to the "real" Athens. In the rooms, the street noise (traffic) is VERY significant at all hours (and I'm normally immune to ambient noise in hotel rooms). The communal bathrooms are marginal but have no door-closing locks on the showers, and toilets that are clean most of the day.

They had free internet access...that's pretty much the only good thing about the "hotel."
The bathroom was down the hall, and was in poor condition. We did not know that there were shared facilities. Also, our room was almost broken into in the middle of the night. For about one minute someone tried to jimmy the lock. The next mornning we told the front desk, and they said someone probably got lost...
Overall: This was more like a BAD hostel, probably one of the worst I've ever stayed in. (97304399)

The accommodation was of a poor standard both in cleanliness and customer service.
Overall: Having travelled to Athens with a group of friends we had booked into stay at the Neos Olympos Hotel for 3 nights. On our arrival my room was untidy, spare and clearly used shorts on top of the unit with the main electrics coming out of the wall. The so called reception manager decided to provide me with a full refund for this room but not the second room even though entry had been forced both from the balacony door and main doors. This was unacceptable however he then called the owner of the hotel who decided to pay nothing back to us at all. Further conversation took place and in the end they refunded 2 rooms for 2 nights therefore the first nights accommodation we had to pay ourselves. We subsquently moved to a far superior and cleaner hotel across from Larissa Station. I would not recommend anyone to stay in Neos Olympus hotel as its more like faulty towers!!!! (97533580)

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.
Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.
All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.
48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
