Traditional, elegant hotel with a warm, relaxing and inviting atmosphere

Some parts of the hotel are starting to look a little tired. Flaking paint on the bathroom ceiling.

Hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. A taer in the carpet was repaired with Black tape and a similar 'fixing' was done to the wallpaper. Staff couldn't get the mini-bar to work when we wanted it to work. We were given a twin room and needed to upgrade to get a double because the double were overbooked?

Very good value for money. Friendly and welcoming reception staff. Excellent manner of the staff regarding storing baggage. Quiet location.Excellent decor in foyer.

At times found it hard to access hot water in the room. Found the TV system a bit confusing.

Overall: Excellent overall with every probability that NH will be used in future and will consider using it whan abroad as well. Prior to this visit. we were unaware of its existence as an international hotel group.  (107461168)

The decor of the hotel afternoon tea was lovely although we were served tea with biscuits in wrappers

We up graded to a junior suite - no additional fruit or biscuits 1 tea bag each the bathroom was cold and had to be fixed the bathroom floor was cold - no slippers no bathrobe

Good location. Staff friendly and helpful. Room location good (ground floor). Dinner Dance Excellent, food and service good.

Initial room twin (double booked!) but no problem with changing. 2nd room very dark, awful lighting and small bed. Small ensuite. Television reception diabolical (like looking through a snow storm!).

Overall: Was surprised that the second room we were given was graded as a superior room as it was very small. The hotel was clean and as we were only there for a dinner dance we were not too worried but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for a long term stay.  (107979552)
