GOOD ROOM

ACCORDING TO YOUR ADVERTISMENT THE ROOM SHOULD HAVE INTERNET BUT I WAS DESAPOINTED TO FIND THERE WAS NO SUCH FACILITY. VERY BAD LOCATION AS IT WAS DIFICULT TO FIND THE APARTMENT WHEN DRIVING BACK EACH NIGHT DUE TO THE ONE WAY SYSTEM

clean, modern, good location & good value for money

staff only present in the morning. the room we were given on arrival did not have any heating and was very small - nothing like the photos on the website! we were, however, given a larger room with heating when we complained!

Great location for points in and out of old part of town--we liked being centrally located for walking (less than a mile) to both old town and swimming/sports complex. Also close to main bus station. Nice kitchenette--let us save some money by eating/cooking breakfast and some lunches in room. Good shower.

Bed not very comfortable--rather hard and firm--but adequate. Had to request extra toilet paper--only one small roll with no extra. I had on my original reservation noted a late arrival, but received no special instructions for check in--luckily I called prior to coming to confirm the reservation, and learned of a key code for a key box for late night entry--I would not have known this if I had not called. Took a while to figure out what it all meant and how it worked in the middle of the night in the little foyer, but we finally got in--and then helped another visitor who was also confused with a late night arrival who had not called in for special instructions. Really need to improve your communication with late night arrivals. Since we stayed for entire week--it would have been nice to have fresh towels and linens at least once--the room was not serviced at all during the week--perhaps this is standard for guest house.

Overall: Really appreciated a good rate, good location, courteous personnel and kitchenette.  (108020998)

Room was new, clean and had a sufficient size.

1. Before traveling I asked how the rates would be in the country currency. But as we arrived they told us that we have to pay in Euro and they adjusted they prices. This is not acceptable. Do you think a hotel in Germany will charge you in Japanese Yen with the daily exchange rate in Euro? 2. I was further asking if we can get a room in an upper level away from the street. Of course they have such rooms, but we stayed in the basement at the street. 3. The description was "Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate". I expect more then the same sole sort ham, cheese, tomato and cucumber served at the corridor. Toast do it by yourself and no coffee or tea.

Overall: It was fairish in comparison with other guesthouses in Reykjavik but I have expected more based on the description.  (108050503)

Convenient to local nightlife, clean, comfortable beds and good facilities. Good breakfast on offer.

A long walk from the BSI bus terminal, reception is unmanned and staff a little unwelcoming. Just don't expect to find the local information you need from the hotel. Basement rooms were a little dark - ask for one on ground floor

Overall: Ok.  (108058744)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
