Cheap, helpfull staff, they allowed me to check in hours before promised because a got in with an early flight. Great kitchen facilities, OK breakfast

TV in the room didn't work. There where no bus to the city as described. Far away from the city.(I didn't complain about these things, but maybe I should have) Long walk to the public bus.

Overall: Ok hostel, but without a car it's not the best place. The only reason it worked for me was because I booked trips where the bus picked me up outside. At least in fall/winter it's a bit to long to walk to the bus when it is raining etc.  (108951651)

The breakfast was very good, I'd stay there all day if I didn't have sights to see. The hotel overall was very clean. There was Free wi-fi throughout the hotel. There was lots of free parking outside the hotel. The rooms we stayed in were quite spacious

The lighting in the rooms were very dim, could do with a brighter bulb. The ladies shower on the top floor could do with a new shower head and a general clean. There should be room to use the fridge in the hostel area for people staying in the hotel. (our food was thrown away - a polite note would have done and then we would have moved it!) The double room did NOT contain a double bed but two single beds with a double sheet over the mattresses to make it look like a double. This room was in fact a TWIN room. The 2nd time we were here, we booked a double room but got a twin room with two single beds, we had to wheel the two beds next to each other.

Overall: Overall this was a nice hotel to stay at, with a good breakfast that offered a wide selection of food. The hotel was very clean throughout. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The free wi-fi was useful. There is plenty of free parking outside the hotel. To drive into the centre of reykjavik it's about 5 minutes away from the hotel. The rooms we stayed in were quite spacious.  (108614056)

Women's shower did not drain.

Overall: For the internet price, a very good deal!  (108423461)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
