About The Palace Hotel - Guest House hotel

Described by our customers as having “the best view in the bay”, step back in time and relax in our traditional Scottish family-run hotel.

We have been awarded the FHG Diploma for 'Holiday Accommodation of the Highest Standard', and we welcome you to our home and small, family hotel. The rooms are cosy and individually decorated in a traditional style in keeping with the 100 year old building.

Rooms to the front have magnificent views over Oban Bay. Golf, fishing, horse-riding, sailing and swimming are all available within a short distance. Please note that as the hotel has a ‘pets welcome’ policy it may not be suitable for people with pet allergies.

There is a central, feature staircase in the hotel (no lift), and the lowest bedrooms are on the second floor. As a small family-run hotel, we hope that The Palace Hotel will feel like a home from home.

Cancellations

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, the first night will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

All children are welcome. All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.

Important Information

Payment Information: The hotel reserves the right to decline any bookings if the credit card is not valid. The main contact must be the cardholder, who should provide the same address that the card is registered to. Credit card payments will only be accepted when an additional 3.75% surcharge (with a minimum surcharge amount of GBP 5.50) is made to the total bill. When using a Debit Card, no charge is applicable. The hotel suggests that customers take out travel insurance, as cancellations in breach of the hotels cancellation policy apply to all bookings. Other Information: All bookings are subject to the hotel's standard terms and conditions. Any individual or group breaching the hotel's terms and conditions may be requested to leave with the loss of any deposit paid. Any damages caused by any member of a group will be charged to the card that has secured the booking. Bed types are only given as an example and may be substituted based on the number of people booked.

Restaurants and Bars

The dining room overlooks Oban bay and is the perfect place to relax. If you plan to visit the islands during your stay, we will provide a full cooked breakfast at 7.00am to allow you to catch the early boat if you wish.

Directions

Hotel Map

The hotel is situated on Oban's main street which is the main road from Glasgow, Perth etc. There are two sets of traffic lights on George Street, the door to the hotel is just before the second set, next to the Royal Bank of Scotland. No residential Parking available. For customers arriving by bus, train or ferry, please walk along the water front with the water to your left. The hotel is opposite the bay located between the railway and north piers approximately 2 minutes walk from the stations.
