This hotel is tucked away behind a bank of trees, on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment, between the city of Gloucester and Painswick. A former splendid Cotswold home, at Hatton Court you will feel eminently comfortable.

Hatton Court is of reassuring size; neither large and impersonal, nor too small. Nothing is hurried. The reception is very much a lounge, with armchairs, magazines and open fires for those chillier days. Next door the bar is more a place to relax where you can take tea, read and talk rather than rush.

The peace of the surrounding Cotswold countryside and comfortable bedrooms, some with whirlpool baths, make for a good nights sleep. Hatton Court is now a completely non-smoking hotel.

The elegant, warm interior of Carrington's restaurant is complemented by efficient and friendly service, providing a fine setting in which to appreciate chef’s creations. Choose from the extensive wine selection offered in our unique Wine-Shop, an unusual and impressive feature of the hotel's restaurant. The care taken to prepare the food, combined with smiling service, is complimented by the thought that has gone into creating the restaurant. Cancellations

From the M5 (South): Leave the m5 at junction 12, a38 to Gloucester. At the roundabout, take the second exit a38 towards Gloucester. After two miles you will reach a large traffic junction, take the right hand lane and turn right on to the a38 Gloucester Ring Road signposted m5, a40, a417 and Tuffley. At traffic lights go straight on. At the first roundabout, take the second exit continuing on a38 towards Cheltenham. At the second roundabout, take the second exit, again a38 towards Cheltenham. At the third roundabout, take the third exit, b4073 towards Upton St. Leonard's and Painswick. Hatton Court is located on this road, approximately three miles at the top of the hill on the right hand side. From the M5 (North): Leave the M5 at junction 11a, take the A417 towards Cirencester. Keep in the left hand lane following signs for A46 Cheltenham/Stroud. At the roundabout, take the third exit towards Stroud. At the next roundabout, take the second exit, still following signs to Stroud. Continue on this road for approximately four miles until you reach the village of Painswick. At the traffic lights, turn right onto B4073 towards Upton St. Leonard's. Hatton Court is a further two miles, just past the Upton St. Leonard's village sign on the left. From the M4: Leave the M4 at junction 15 and take the A419 north towards Cirencester. The A419 becomes the A417 just south of Cirencester, stay on the A417 around Cirencester following signs to Gloucester and Cheltenham. About three miles after the A417 becomes single carriageway you will come to a roundabout with the 'Air Balloon' pub on your left. Take the first exit off this roundabout signposted Gloucester. Stay in the left hand lane as the road becomes a dual carriageway, and take the first exit signposted Stroud A46. Follow the A46 towards Stroud until you enter the single file traffic lights in Painswick. Turn right onto the B4073 signposted Gloucester. Hatton Court is two miles from Painswick on the B4073, on the left hand side just past the Upton St. Leonard's village sign.
