Once a Benedictine Abbey, this elegant privately owned hotel was previously the residence of the Dukes of Bedford. The Bedford Hotel is an excellent base from which to explore Dartmoor National Park and the wealth of National Trust houses and gardens in Devon and Cornwall. Cancellations

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later, the first night will be charged. In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

All children are welcome. All children under 1 year stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years are charged GBP 10.00 per night and person for cots. All older children or adults are charged GBP 25.00 per night and person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.

The Bedford Hotel is situated in Plymouth Road, just off Bedford Square, in the centre of Tavistock. Tavistock is on the a386, about 20 miles north of Plymouth and on the western edge of Dartmoor, in West Devon.
