This historical Hotel stands in the main square of the town, a site it has occupied for around 500 years, and the ideal resting place for anyone who needs easy access to the central business district, thriving Ipswich nightlife or a little retail therapy! The bedrooms offer comfort and character, as each is individually decorated in a different style. All rooms are en suite and the rooms at the front of the Hotel give a fantastic view of the Town square. If you need to keep up communications with people, the recent addition of a digital telephone system means that all rooms have direct dial telephones with modem ports for internet access. Faxing is also available. The Golden Lion Hotel is proud to be associated with MIZU Noodle Bar, located at the front of the Hotel, and voted in the top 50 restaurants in Suffolk. MIZU is a modern oriental restaurant, combining dishes from all over the Far East with a relaxed, casual atmosphere. There are over 80 dishes on the menu. Modern Ipswich is a thriving town, with great shopping during the day, and a vibrant nightlife, and The Golden Lion Hotel is in the centre of it all. A 5 minute walk in any direction will take you around all the major stores, restaurants and bars. You will also quickly find the 2 multiplex cinemas, and the popular Corn Exchange & Regent theatre only a few minutes away. For football fans, the Ipswich Town Football ground is no more than a 10 minute walk. All Rooms are en-suite. Bathrooms and have recently been refurbished. Due to being a Town Centre Hotel, the rooms can be loud on market days and weekends.

By Car: - Head for the town centre of Ipswich. - Follow the signs for Civic Drive, where the police station and courts are located. - Turn left at the police station onto Elm Street and follow the road to the end, being careful not to follow Elm Street onto Museum Street. Parking: The hotel's free private secure car park is at the end of Elm Street. If you have any problems, please call us at the hotel and we will guide you in. Large vans are not allowed.
