About Macdonald Compleat Angler hotel

With stunning views of Marlow weir, this classic 400-year-old 4- red star English country house hotel is situated in an idyllic location on the banks of the River Thames.

Whether relaxing in the oak-panelled cocktail bar, dining in one of the 2 award-winning restaurants or enjoying a champagne picnic aboard one of the hotel’s private boats, you are guaranteed a memorable visit.

Bowaters, the hotel’s main restaurant, has been awarded 2 AA rosettes and offers modern British heritage food in a contemporary but comfortable setting, overlooking the river. Aubergine offers fine dining and exquisite modern French cuisine. William Drabble, the executive chef, has held a Michelin star since 1998.

The 64 luxurious rooms and suites are all decorated to the highest standard and have flat-screen TVs, air conditioning and complimentary broadband.

In summer, the hotel is perfectly placed for the highlights of the season; Henley Regatta, Marlow Regatta, Swan Upping and Royal Ascot.

Restaurants and Bars

Aubergine at the Compleat Angler will be the new restaurant at the hotel, opening in the autumn. Aubergine at the Compleat Angler will become the country outpost of the internationally acclaimed Aubergine which opened in 1993 in Chelsea, London, and has held a Michelin star since 1995.

Hotel Map

By road: From the m4: Exit the m4 at junction 8/9, then take the a404(m) northbound to Marlow and Oxford. Turn left at the first roundabout and go through Bisham village for 1 mile. From the M25: Exit at junction 15, onto the M4, then as above. From the M40: Exit at junction 4, then take the A404 southbound as far as the roundabout. Next take the third exit to Bisham.
