This beautifully refurbished 17th century coaching inn offers luxury accommodation and dining of an exceptional quality in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
The White Hart offers menus and a wine list to delight discerning tastes. The inn started life in the 17th century as a rest stop and watering-hole for travellers.
Situated in the old Roman settlement of Welwyn, it was positioned on the Great North Road between London and Cambridge, a route famous for its highwaymen. While the chances of being asked to ‘stand and deliver’ have long gone, the offer of excellent food and drink and a comfortable room for a restful night's sleep still exists in abundance.

By Car From the A1(M) northbound: - Exit at junction 6 and take the 1st exit, onto the B197: Digswell Hill. - After 400 yards you will see a BP petrol station on your right. Turn right immediately after this towards Welwyn shops. - Follow this road for a quarter of a mile and you will see The White Hart straight ahead. - Drive through the central archway into the car park. From the A1(M) southbound: - Exit at junction 6 and take the 3rd exit from the roundabout. - As you go back under the motorway, keep left, passing the fire station on your right. - Follow the road down and round the left-hand bend. The White Hart is on your right as you approach the T-junction. - Drive through the central archway into the car park. By Air Luton Airport is 20 minutes away. By Train Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City train stations are both 5 minutes away. Welwyn North train station is 3 minutes away.
