This exclusive, twenty-two bedroomed hotel combines every modern comfort with an individual atmosphere of ease and homeliness. This goes hand in hand with exceptional good taste and first-class management - features that are always in evidence. The Headfort Arms Hotel was acquired by our hosts, Tom and Peggy Duff, in 1972. They have made many improvements to the hotel since then, but without interfering with the original architecture. The bedrooms, all en suite, have every modern amenity including central heating, radio, television and direct dial telephone. In 1990 a new restaurant was opened in the hotel, The Loyd Restaurant, where particular emphasis is placed on very high quality cuisine in a warm friendly atmosphere. The fine reception area, with cool lounges and welcoming cocktail bar, refurbished in 1993, sets the pattern for a happy holiday. In 1995 a special function room was added, The Kenlis Suite, with very elaborate decor, co-ordinating napkins, flowers, linen and crockery. A reception/lounge area was also added. The Suite has a dividing wall to cater for large or small parties and a luxurious conservatory to the rear which overlooks landscaped gardens. All food is silver service and of the highest quality.

Although an integral part of the Headfort Arms offering, the Vanilla Pod operates as a separate entity with its own entrance, bar and amenities. The decor and ambience is in stark contrast to the rest of the hotel, with light oak furnishings. The cuisine on offer involves every corner of the globe but remaining faithful to local and organic produce where possible and never forgetting its Irishness. Whether it’s 07:30 or 22:00, Café Therese has an offering for every discerning palate. It is newly opened in 2004, serving top notch breakfasts, carvery lunch, panini and salad bar, as well as afternoon tea and an all-evening grill. If it’s ‘mothers cooking’ that you are looking for, Therese will welcome you herself to this great casual bistro. The Kelltic Bar is another brand in the Headfort’s portfolio of entertainment options. It is a traditional Irish pub in every way, but with cutting edge DJ performances, live gigs, traditional music sessions and great atmosphere.
The Headfort Arms Hotel is situated in the historical town of Kells in County Meath. It is thirty-nine miles from Dublin, on the main road to Derry.
