Axis occupies part of the ground floor and overlooks the courtyard of the Hilton Islington. Light, stylish and contemporary, Axis does a very good job of keeping up with the Joneses (the Business Design Exhibition Centre is next door). A very design-led space, it's furnished with comfortable sofas and makes the perfect place to unwind in front of the dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows. The food is a combination of traditional British specialities and Mediterranean dishes. Daily-changing mezze are the dishes to start with, with favourites include patatas bravas and Parma ham with roasted plums. Diners are predominantly business people and hotel guests, though couples do come in the evening, when low lighting and candlelight create a nice romantic atmosphere.
Parking: Private parking is possible on site and costs GBP 3 per hour from 08:00 until 20:00 (Monday to Friday). It costs GBP 0.80 per hour from 20:00 until 08:00 (Monday to Friday), and at any time on Saturday or Sunday.
