History tells us that the Convento do Desagravo was built on orders of the bishop and count Dom Francisco de Lemos de Faria Pereira during the last quarter of the eighteenth century.

By Car: - From the A1 motorway, exit at Coimbra Norte for the IP3. - After 32 km, exit for the IC6 - Oliveira do Hospital - Arganil. - On the IC6, follow signs for Oliveira do Hospital. - 30 km later, turn right following signs for EN17-Oliveira do Hospital. - 10 km later, in Vendas de Galizes, turn right following the Pousada Signs (towards Avô, Vide, Covilhã). - After 2.5 km you will arrive at Vila Pouca da Beira where you will find the Pousada.
