The Bear was originally a coaching inn that was host to Queen Victoria, Churchill, Eisenhower and the Canadian Prime Minister, Jean Chretien. It has a public bar and lounge, and serves fresh bar food.
Local attractions include Nelson's Victory and the Mary Rose at the historic Portsmouth dockyards. Portsmouth, Chichester and Southampton International Airport are just a short drive away.

The Bear Hotel will offer no food on 21, 22 or 23 July 2009. This is due to kitchen refurbishment. All rates will be 'room only' during this period.

Very traditional a la carte restaurant. Our team take great time and pride in producing all of our dishes with local fresh produce. We also have a bar menu, which is loaded with good pub grub.
The hotel is located in the centre of Havant, situated between Portsmouth and Chichester. By Car: - Leave the A27 at the Havant/Hayling Island turn off. - Turn left at the roundabout (Park Road South). - At the 2nd set of traffic lights, turn right. - When you come to the mini roundabout, turn left. - Take the first turning on your right (Prince George's Street) and follow the road around. - The hotel's car park is opposite the end of this road.
