Bedford's most historic hotel has been transformed, and features sensational new rooms with air conditioning, a great town-centre location and stunning views over the River Ouse.
The 18th-century Bedford Swan is full of character and history. It was built in 1794 for the 5th Duke of Bedford, and is one of the most distinctive hotels in the town. It has a Roman-bath-style pool and Jacuzzi. Spa treatments are available at an additional cost.
Luxurious rooms come with stylish furniture and a flat-screen 32-inch LCD TV (with movies). White Company toiletries are in all bathrooms.
River Room Restaurant has an outdoor terrace overlooking the river and serves freshly prepared food. There are elegant meeting and function rooms for events.

This fabulous New Year's Eve House Party package includes afternoon tea, a champagne reception and a 5-course dinner, followed by entertainment, including live music and bacon rolls at 01:00.
The locally renowned, elegant River Room Restaurant overlooks the River Ouse and offers a fine choice of English and continental cuisine with a seasonal a la Carte menu complemented by an excellent wine list.
By Car: From Birmingham: - Follow the M6 to the M1 and continue south to junction 13. - From the M1 (junction 13), follow the A421 to Bedford, then the A6 and signs to the town centre. - Once you have crossed the River Ouse, the hotel is immediately on your right. - Follow the one-way system round the square and turn left down Embankment. From the A1: - Follow the A428 to Bedford. Upon reaching the town, turn left at the traffic lights signposted for M1 south. - Go over the roundabout, then exit at the 1st right down Embankment. From Cambridge: - Leave Cambridge on the A1303 and join the A428 towards St. Neots. - Continue on the A428 until the A1. - Turn south on the A1 and at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit and continue on the A428. - At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit and continue into the town. - At the traffic lights, turn left, signposted M1 south. - Continue straight over at the next roundabout and then turn right down Embankment.
