The historic Barceló Lygon Arms was established as an inn in 1532. It has an extensive spa, 7 sumptuous lounges and 2 splendid restaurants. Everywhere is warmed by real log fires.
Located in a quiet and beautiful village, this lovely hotel will immerse you in history, from the stone doorways to the antique furniture, mullion windows and Georgian ceilings. Charles I and Cromwell were once guests here.
The Lygon Arms is ideal for exploring the Cotswolds, but for days spent inside there is a well-equipped gym, pool and all-weather tennis courts.

Each room varies in size and style are comfortable and stylish with double bed and desk. The classic en-suite is the perfect place to unwind and relax using the complimentary toiletries.
These rooms offer a choice of 2 distinct styles within this 500-year-old hotel. You could have a modern refurbished room with dark wood, leather chairs, Bang & Olufsen sound system and flat-screen TV. Or it may be a traditional room in the main house, many with unique features such as beamed ceilings antiques and open fires. All offer Wi-Fi access and other quality features (listed below). The classic en suite bathroom includes free toiletries.
The Great Hall is the main dining room and provides an impressive yet intimate setting for breakfast, dinner and traditional Sunday lunches. The room's centrepiece is a grand open fireplace. An imposing barrel-vaulted ceiling, 17th-century minstrels' gallery and screen, heraldic friezes, suits of armour and polished oak-panelled walls create a memorable atmosphere in which to dine. Head chef Martin Blunos (who previously held 2 Michelin stars) is in charge of the menu. Adjoining The Lygon Arms is Goblets, a warm, friendly and comfortable Brasserie Wine Bar. It has 2 fireplaces, historic surroundings and great food. Goblets is more informal than The Great Hall. In the Lygon Room, a 9-course dinner with specially selected wines is served.
M40 from the north: exit M40 at Junction 11, on A361 towards Banbury, continue through Banbury on the A361 towards Chipping Norton. At Chipping Norton join the A44 towards Evesham for 10 miles (17 km). The last 2 miles (3 km) on the A44 provide great views and breathtaking drive down Broadway Hill! At the bottom of the hill at the next round- about turn left and continue for about a mile (1.5 km), and then right at the roundabout in the village. The hotel will soon be on your right, please drive carefully into our coach yard. M40 from the south: exit M40 at Junction 8A, on the A40 towards Oxford. After approximately 10 miles (17 km) take the A44 towards Evsham. Follow the A44 for about 25 miles (40 km), (see description of last part of journey from M40 from the north above). M5 from the north: exit M5 at Junction 7 on the A44 towards Oxford. Continue past Evesham and on to Broadway. Total distance from the motorway to Broadway is 21 miles (34 km). Once through Wickhamford, carry on for about another 1.5 miles (2 km) and turn right at the next round about. Continue along this road for about another 1.5 (2 km) and the hotel will be on your left. M5 from the south: exit M5 at Junction 9 on the A46 towards Evesham. After nearly 12.5 miles (20 km) take the A44 towards Oxford, (see description of the remainder of the route from Wickhamford onwards in the M5 from the North above). By train: times from Paddington, London to Moreton in Marsh vary from between 1hr 30 min and 1hr 50 min depending upon the time of day. A taxi can be arranged to pick you up from Moreton-in-Marsh station (9 miles (15km) at a cost of approximately GBP 22.00. Helicopter: the hotel has its own private helipad.
