Exclusively for non-smoking adults (children over 12 welcome), the hotel is within easy reach of a variety of restaurants, pubs and shops. The train and bus stations are also within a 15-minute walk, allowing you to explore the wonderful surroundings.
During your stay you can visit Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England. Accessed in the nearby village of Bowness, here you can hire boats or take lake cruises. Alternatively you can visit the Beatrix Potter attraction, found 10 minutes away on-foot.

The price for this room reflects its size and this room is intended to provide great-value budget accommodation. The budget rooms are scrupulously clean, freshly decorated and furnished with double bed, bedside lockers and a wardrobe. The room comes complete with tea and Fairtrade coffee making facilities, as well as biscuits. There is a 3-night minimum stay during public holiday periods. There is a 2-night minimum stay on weekends.

St John's Lodge is the food lover's choice and is one of only a few Lake District establishments to have received the coveted AA Egg Cup Breakfast Award for the exceedingly high quality of its breakfasts. The lodge probably offers the most extensive breakfast menu in the area and the large selection includes traditional English dishes alongside a range of healthier alternatives, including vegetarian options. The small team of chefs take great pride in the cooking and presentation of the food. Vegetarians, vegans and those on gluten-free diets will be amazed by the variety of homemade dishes available. The lodge has worked hard to achieve approval from the Vegetarian Society for its range of over 20 vegetarian and vegan home-cooked breakfast dishes. To complement your breakfast, the lodge offers Café Direct Fair Trade tea and coffee.
By Car: From North or South: - Take the M6. - Exit at junction 36. - Follow signs to the South Lakes and Kendal. This road is the A590/A591. - Follow the A591 to Windermere and then signs to the town centre. - Drive through the village towards Bowness and the lake. This road is 'New Road'. - After around 800 metres, there is a Catholic church on the left. St John's Lodge is approximately 90 metres on the left-hand side (If you reach the police station or the lake then you have gone too far).
