This friendly guest house was built as a school house in 1875. It has been converted to comfortable, homely accommodation with beautiful original features.
The building's historic structure has been carefully preserved, including the 130-year-old exposed wooden beams. All light and airy rooms have been newly decorated, with art on the walls, king-size beds and designer Egyptian cotton bed linen.
The Old School Guesthouse is surrounded by Dartmoor National Park, and is a 10-minute drive from Tavistock. Plymouth and Plymouth Airport are 15 minutes away.

Double rooms are furnished to a high standard and offer traditional charm with beamed ceilings and modern facilities. In addition to the facilities already listed (see below), each room includes a king-size bed and a Sony LCD TV with digital Freeview and DVD player, plus a DAB radio.
Breakfast is served between 07:00 and 9:00. There is a traditional English breakfast and other options. The Old School Guesthouse uses local, organic and seasonal ingredients where possible. Dinner and wines from the licensed bar are available in the evening. Advance bookings are preferred. The dining room is light and airy, and the walls are adorned with works of art. In the evening, the tables are laid with candles. All food is freshly prepared and dishes range from traditional to international. The chef obtained his diploma from the world-famous Leith's School of Food and Wine in London.
By Car - From the M5 South, continue along onto the A38 Expressway (same motorway, different name). - Take the A386 for Tavistock. Stay on this road until you come to Horrabridge. - Turn right into the village centre, then go over the stone bridge and turn left. - The Leaping Salmon pub will be on your right. Continue along this road for less than 300 metres and take the 1st right, where the white chapel is on the corner. - The Old School Guesthouse is less than 50 metres up on the left-hand side. - Alternatively, turn off the M5 for Okehampton and proceed along the A30 until you come to the Tavistock (A386) sign. - Follow the A386 all the way into Tavistock. - Turn left at the 1st mini-roundabout, and go straight across the 2nd mini-roundabout. You will now be on the Whitchurch Road. - This leads all the way into Horrabridge. On going through the traffic-calming measures on the outskirts of the village, take the next immediate left turn (by the white chapel house). - The Old School House is 50 metres away on the left.
