The prestigious Roxburghe Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Edinburgh and is located in the heart of the Georgian new town, overlooking the historic Charlotte Square, home to Scotland's First Minister.

This premier 4-star hotel completed a £7.5 million refurbishment in 2008, including its meeting spaces, public areas and all bedrooms, many of which offer views of Edinburgh Castle.

The hotel boasts an unrivalled location, between George Street, the stylish home of the city's top bars, restaurants and boutique shops, and Rose Street, with its more traditional pubs and eateries.

The Roxburghe prides itself on using the finest ingredients, sourced from local, organic suppliers where possible. So, during your stay, you can expect organic milk, free-range eggs, corn-fed poultry, grass-fed beef and wild white fish in all restaurants. The talented chefs take these ingredients and prepare them creatively to strict quality standards, resulting in an exciting, varied menu. Breakfast is served from 07:00 until 10:00. Lunch is served from 10:00 until 18:00. Dinner is served from 18:30 until 21:45. Room service is available 24 hours a day.

Children and extra beds

All children are welcome. One child under 4 years stays free of charge in a baby cot. One older child or adult is charged GBP 15.00 per night and person in an extra bed. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

When paying for your accommodation account with a credit card, a GBP 2 charge is payable. If you finalise your accommodation account with cash or a debit card there is no extra charge. The spa is closed on a Sunday and Monday, but the Leisure Centre is still open. Throughout December, Melrose Restaurant will be closed every Friday and Saturday evening.

By Car: - From the M8, take junction 1 and follow signs to the city centre. - Turn left off Princes Street into South Charlotte Street. - The hotel is situated on Charlotte Square, which is on the right hand side of the road immediately after the 1st set of traffic lights. Parking: The hotel has limited parking available on-site (at additional cost). This can be accessed via Castle Street/Rose Street/Rose Street Lane. There is also an NCP Car Park, situated at Castle Terrace, which you can access from Lothian Road. This car park is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. By Rail: The nearest station is Edinburgh Waverley. Taxis are readily available. By Air: The nearest airport is Edinburgh International. Taxis are readily available.
