About The Black Swan Hotel hotel

Overlooking Helmsley's market place, this country hotel of great character was originally a coaching inn. Some sections of the building date back to the Georgian, Tudor and Elizabethan periods.

The Black Swan Hotel is renowned for its excellent food and friendly service. An interesting composition of Tudor rectory, Elizabethan coaching inn and Georgain house, there is a veritable maze of lounges for guests to enjoy. Situated in what is undoubtedly one of Yorkshire's prettiest market towns, perched on the edge of the North York moors, the hotel is within easy reach of Rievaulx Abbey and Castle Howard.
