Located opposite the abbey in Fontevraud, this former coaching inn is now a charming country hotel featuring 3 restaurants, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court and a large 17th-century courtyard.
The Hostellerie La Croix Blanche features well-equipped and individually decorated rooms which were renovated in 2007 to combine traditional charm with modern comfort. Rooms feature free Wi-Fi internet access and a flat-screen satellite TV.
At the huge Fontevraud abbey you will find the graves of Richard the Lionheart and Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine. Fontevraud, at the heart of the Loire Valley, is surrounded by castles, vineyards and troglodyte villages.
