A stunning 6-bedroom extension has just opened. All the new rooms are individually designed and air conditioned. Each new room has a 17-inch LCD TV at the foot of a double-ended bath.

Restaurants and Bars
The award-winning Ivy Brasserie has a well-established reputation with major guidebooks as one of the best fine-dining venues in the North of England. The brasserie has a simple and relaxed approach to top-quality dining, with a menu featuring modern brasserie classics made with locally produced, seasonal ingredients when possible. The Ivy Brasserie is open for lunch from Monday to Saturday, with fixed-price menus. On Sundays a traditional roast lunch is served. The Ivy Brasserie is open from Monday to Saturday evenings from 18:30. Converted from the building's old brick, vaulted cellars, the Cellar Bar is open for dinner at the weekend. Sophisticated and relaxed, the bar's ambience appeals to all.
Directions
From Leeds - via the a64 (avoiding York Centre). Travel East on the a64. Take the a1237 (York North & Thirsk). Continue for 5 miles following sign to Thirsk (a19). At the roundabout that intersects the a19, turn right (signposted York Centre a19). Continue for 2 miles. The Grange is on the right hand side just beyond a footbridge. The car park is off Queen Anne's Road just past the hotel. From the South M1 and A1 Travel North on the M1. At junction 32, take the M18 link to A1 North. At junction 2 take the A1 North. Continue until the sign marked York A64. Then follow the directions as shown above. From the East - (Scarborough, Bridlington and Hull) Follow the A1237 (outer ring road) signposted to Thirsk. At the intersection of the A19 turn to York (City Centre). Continue for 2 miles. The Grange is on the right hand side just beyond the footbridge. The car park is off Queen Anne's Road just past the hotel. From Selby - via the A19 Go into York and follow the inner ring road signs direction Thirsk A19. Continue round to the North side. When you reach the sign to Thirsk A19 pointing to the right, follow this road for 500 yards. The Grange is on the left hand side, just beyond a Zebra Crossing. The car park is off Queen Anne's Road just before the Zebra Crossing. From York Railway Station Turn left out of the station towards the Minster. Cross the River Ouse via Lendal Bridge. Turn left into Museum Street. At the A19 (Bootham) turn left. Continue for 500 yards, The hotel is on the left, just beyond a Zebra Crossing. The car park is off Queen Anne's Road just before the Zebra Crossing. York is under two hours from London and two hours from Edinburgh by train. The station is then minutes walk from the hotel.
