The Oakwood Arms hotel has a great location, in the heart of Shannon's town centre, next to the Skycourt shopping centre and only 5 minutes' drive from the airport.
The hotel makes an excellent base from which to explore all that the west of Ireland has to offer. Bunratty Castle and Folk Park are just a 15-minute drive away, while Ennis and Limerick are 20 minutes' drive from the hotel and are also served by a frequent bus service. Free parking is available for guests.
The interior of the hotel boasts exposed oak beams, open fireplaces and soft lighting. All of the rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished with shower/baths, flat-screen TVs (with on-demand movies), voicemail telephones, hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities.
There is an excellent choice of food in both the bar and restaurant. Sophie's Lounge offers a daily carvery and a varied evening bar menu. The Palm Court Restaurant offers international cuisine in a beautiful setting, with marble floors and Spanish crystal chandeliers.

The hotel offers a choice of dining in either our Palm Court Restaurant or Sophie's Lounge. The Palm Court Restaurant serves a blend of Irish and international cuisine in a beautiful setting. Sophie's Lounge offers a less formal alternative to enjoy the hotel's cuisine. You can choose from a daily carvery or a comprehensive bar menu.
By air: The Oakwood Arms is only a five minute drive from Shannon Airport. There are regular bus and taxi services which depart from the main terminal building and rental car facilities are available. Kerry Airport at Farranfore has direct scheduled services from Dublin and London only and has a summer charter for some European cities. Dublin Airport services all major national, international and transatlantic flights. Rental car facilities available. BY SEA: A wide range of sea ferry services operate, year round, from the UK. Stena Line operate between Holyhead-Dun Laoghaire, Fishguard-Rosslare and Stranraer-Belfast. Irish Ferries also operate sailings from Holyhead and Dun Laoghaire, Pembroke-Rosslare. BY TRAIN: Iarnrod Eireann, the Irish Rail network, operate trains departing from Heuston Station to Ennis.
