The Restaurant has held a Michelin Star for over 20 years and was recently voted among the top 25 places to dine in the uk by the Egon Ronay Guide. The style of cookery is eclectic, and extensive use is made of fresh local produce such as wild mushrooms, vegetables and game from the New Forest, and seafood from local Christchurch and Lymington. A selection of vegetarian options and low calorie dishes are available. Luncheon is served daily in the Marryat Restaurant. In the evening, the restaurant offers an extensive menu, with an incomparable wine list. Our restaurant is extremely popular so please reserve your table well in advance. No smoking is permitted in the Restaurant at any time. One Lounge is designated every evening for a Non Smoking Lounge.
London to Chewton Glen via Emery Down: Take the M3 out of London, follow M3 to the end, taking the westbound M27 towards Bournemouth. The M27 becomes the A31 after junction 1 and is signposted. A31 / The West/Bournemouth. You need to stay on the A31 for approximately 2 miles, pass the Rufus Stone services/Little Chef on your left. Take the next left signposted Emery Down. Go over a cattle grid and follow road for approx 3 miles. This is a forest road with a 40 mph limit and there may be animals on the road, so take care. Follow road going straight on towards Emery Down. Pass a pub called The New Forest Inn on your right and stay on this road until you reach the A35. Turn right on to the A35, signposted Christchurch/New Milton (The Swan pub is opposite). Stay on A35 for approximately 10 miles, ignoring any signs for New Milton. After 9 miles there is a hotel/carvery on the left - The East Close Hotel. Carry straight on and approximately one mile after The East Close Hotel is a major staggered junction, take the left hand turn signposted Walkford, New Milton and Lymington.. Proceed through and out of Walkford and then turn left into Chewton Farm Road, which is immediately before a roundabout sign. Once on Chewton Farm Road, the hotel entrance is on the right.
