About Knavesmire Manor Hotel hotel
Now a comfortable family-run hotel, this elegant Georgian manor house enjoys uninterrupted views across York's famous racecourse and still retains many beautiful original features.
Once the home of the Rowntree family, the hotel was originally built in 1833. The main building still retains many period features and it is easy to imagine this beautiful building in all of its historic splendour. Now one of the few remaining privately owned and family-run hotels in York, The Knavesmire Manor Hotel takes pride in offering a friendly, personal service to all guests.
In the immaculately kept gardens, the hotel's tropical conservatory houses an indoor heated swimming pool and spa bath. The hotel's other facilities include a fully licensed bar, a drawing room and the hotel's popular on-site restaurant. There is a car park to the rear of the main building, with ample free parking available for guests use.

Room information
The accommodation available at the hotel offers a choice of bright, south-facing, motel-style garden rooms at ground floor level, as well as the more traditional rooms in the main building, where each room retains its own character. The modern motel-style garden rooms are located outside of the main hotel building. Light and airy, these rooms are contemporary in style and are all at ground floor level with direct access to the garden and the car park. All of the garden rooms have an en suite shower. The rooms located in the main hotel building are spread over 3 floors. Each room is unique and individually decorated with its own charm and character. The rooms in the main building are more traditional in style and offer en suite bathrooms with a bath with shower over. Some of the rooms enjoy glorious views over the Knavesmire racecourse.

New Year's Eve: After a full Yorkshire breakfast you'll have the day to explore York and all its attractions. In the evening, a champagne reception begins the New Year's celebrations, followed by a 7-course gala dinner. After, join the resident DJ in the Drawing Room, where your choice of music will be played to take you into the new year. New Year's Day: Enjoy a hearty breakfast and recover from the night before! Restaurants and Bars
Restaurant 302 is the hotels own on-site restaurant. Open to residents and non-residents from 18:30 until 21:00 daily, the restaurant enjoys an excellent local following. Restaurant 302 serves a variety of English and continental dishes, freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients. There is a fixed-price table d'hôte menu and an à la carte menu offering an excellent choice of starters, meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, as well as a daily selection of freshly prepared home-made desserts. A children's menu is also available. The wine list offers a good choice of carefully selected and reasonably priced wines to accompany your meal. The restaurant also serves a selection of liqueur coffees.
Directions
By Car (from the south and west): Approach York on the A64 from Leeds, the M1 or the A1(M). Turn into the A1036, following the signs towards York city centre. The hotel is on the left-hand side, overlooking the racecourse. By Car (from the north): From the A1(M), take the A59 into York until it meets the A1036 at the junction of Holgate and Blossom Street. Turn right at the traffic fights, following the signs for Leeds. The hotel is on the right-hand side, overlooking the racecourse. By Car (from the A19): Turn right onto the A1237 until the junction with the A59, and then follow the directions above. By Train: The station in York offers a direct train service from London, Edinburgh and most parts of the UK.
