Situated in the heart of a picturesque Highland village on the east coast of Scotland, this contemporary country hotel rejects modern day distractions in favour of a haven of peace.
In an effort to keep alive what this region stands for, the hotel has invested in natural history and art, and retains much of its original charm, including the woodwork and panelling which glow with the warmth of open log fires.
With no TVs and telephones in the rooms, you can absorb the peace and quiet. Built in 1816, the Bridge Hotel is steeped in history and tradition, with the famous Helmsdale River running right past it. Served by 2 airports - Inverness and Wick - it is conveniently situated on the main axis between Inverness, Thurso and John O'Groats, the most northern point of mainland Scotland, and a perfect base for exploring the wonders of the Highlands.

The hotel has a fine dining restaurant with an extensive menu that celebrates classical European recipes, using fresh produce straight from the hills and the sea. The region's finest salmon rivers and many hunting estates are on the hotel's doorstep; savour fresh culinary offerings such as grouse, duck, hare, rabbit, oysters and deer in the hotel's main restaurant. Even the lobsters come fresh out of an on-site aquarium. For more casual lunches, the lounge bar provides delicious home made soups and light snacks. At breakfast, the hotel proudly offers a variety of its own home-made jams.

By Car - The Bridge Hotel is close to the main road heading North on the A9, about an hour and 10 minutes' drive from Inverness. By Public Transport The hotel is easily reached by bus and by train, with the bus stop being in the village square in front of the hotel, and the train station just across the river on the other bank. Please check timetables as they might change over the year. By Air The 2 closest airports are Inverness, about an hour and a half away, and Wick, approximately 50 minutes' drive.
