This delightful little country house offers relaxed surroundings with many of the services of a hotel.
Harrabeer is rated Visit Britain 4-star guest accommodation, and holds an AA 4 Gold Star award, and was a finalist for the Landlady of Year 2002 award. This licensed country house has an attractive dining room, a gracious sitting room, and an open fire which burns on cooler evenings.
Conveniently located for outdoor activities in and around Dartmoor and a host of interesting places to visit, Harrabeer is only 5 miles from Tavistock (Market Town of the Year) and 9 miles from Plymouth for shopping, culture and nightlife.

At the Harrabeer Country House, you can treat yourself to a stay in the master bedroom, a large, beautifully appointed en suite room overlooking Dartmoor, with a variety of added extras. Alternatively, there are 5 very comfortable standard rooms (with twin or double beds). All include either en suite or private bathrooms and feature a range of convenient amenities. One room even boasts a beautiful Victorian double bed! From time to time, self-catering suites are also available - keep checking for availability.
This bedroom is decorated in a soft, relaxing green with pine furniture. The standard double bed has an attractive wrought ironwork bed head. Approximate room size: 2.9 metres x 3.2 metres (9.5 feet x 10.5 feet).
The oldest room in the building is decorated in colours of fresh cream, moss and burgundy, with pine furniture. In the room there is a good amount of storage space, along with a handbasin. You will have your own private bathroom just a few steps across the corridor. Harrabeer will supply a dressing gown on request. If required, this can form an independent family suite with room 6 via a private door. The room has twin beds that can be joined to form a king-size bed - when booking, please state your preference. This spacious, triple-aspect bedroom has soft peach and rich, coordinated colours. There are beautiful views over Dartmoor. The bathroom includes a bidet, whilst the room has period-style furniture. A larger bedroom decorated in fresh mint green. There is pine furniture, including a dressing table and an original Victorian standard double bed. This bedroom is decorated in fashionable pale duck-egg blue, with pine furniture, overlooking the pretty garden. It has a generously sized shower and bidet, with a wonderfully inventive ceiling and fabulous fish-themed tiles. There is an inter-connecting door with room 4 and a privacy door from the corridor that could form an independent family suite, if required. The room has twin beds that can be joined to form a king-size bed - when booking, please state your preference. Approximate room size: 2.4 metres x 3.9 metres (8 feet x 13 feet).
A pretty pink and pine bedroom overlooking the garden. There is an inter-connecting door with room 2 and a privacy door from the corridor that could form an independent family suite, if required. You can enjoy a set 3-course meal. Please book with us 24 hours in advance. We will discuss the menu of the day with you and are happy to suggest alternatives if the menu does not suit. Please note that there are no evening meals available on Sundays.
By car: - Take the A386 to Yelverton roundabout and exit for Tavistock. After 200 yards look for a brown sign on the left-hand side. - Continue down Grange Road and turn right at the T-junction. The hotel is 300 yards further on the left-hand side after the road narrows. For Sat Nav, the postcode is PL20 6EA. By bus: - There is a bus stop at the top of the road in the village. There is a good, reliable service from Plymouth, Tavistock and Exeter. - You will then have to walk down Harrowbeer Lane (2 minutes down and 7 minutes up) or call us to collect you. By rail: Plymouth main line station is 20 minutes away by car and has a regular service for London and Truro. By taxi: there are several taxi services that we will give you details for, or book for you. There is also a taxi service at Plymouth railway station. Plymouth Airport is 10 minutes away by car, offering regular services to all parts of the country. By bicyle: there is the N27 Sustrans National Cycle Network. Cycle route 2, link routes, Plym Valley Cycle Track and The Granite Way cycle routes are all close by. Cycle hire can be arranged. The bike bus service is available through Dartmoor National Parks. We offer a safe place for bicycles and gear.
