The South Lodge Hotel is an attractive Victorian town house and has recently been carefully refurbished and modernized whilst retaining a warm, homely atmosphere.
The hotel is a short walk from Chelmsford town center and the county cricket ground and is conveniently located near the A12 and M25 motorway.
South Bar & Restaurant is an a la carte restaurant that offers contemporary French inspired cuisine in a relaxing environment. The restaurant, bar area and functions rooms have all been refurbished and modernized but still provide a comforting homely atmosphere.

Located on the top floor of the house, these large, clean, comfortable rooms provide a relaxing environment in which to work or unwind.
The South Bar and Restaurant is open to both guests and the general public and has proved popular with visitors and local people. You'll receive a warm welcome, great food and the attention to detail we pride ourselves on. The restaurant serves modern international cuisine, so whether you want Icelandic plaice or teriyaki chicken, there is bound to be something to stimulate your appetite. With an adjoining terrace that leads into the garden, you can dine al fresco during the summer months. The restaurant is also available for private hire, so please call us to check whether the restaurant is available.
From London and the M25: - Take the A12 for Chelmsford (Junction 28). - Turn left, signed Chelmsford B1007 (Junction 16). - After 1.9 miles, turn left at the mini roundabout. - After 0.5 miles take the 2nd exit off the roundabout, signed town center. - After 250 meters, turn left at the 1st set of traffic lights The hotel is situated on the right.
