This former 16th century coaching inn still retains many of its wonderful original features, with a cosy interior, original wooden beams and an inglenook fireplace.
The hotel's original historic beauty does not compromise the standard of its accommodation. All of the recently refurbished rooms are en suite, with power showers, air conditioning and secondary glazing.
The hotel is the perfect place to sample the renowned, good-quality food along with a glass of fine new world wine or a glass of real ale in front of a roaring fire.
Conferences, meetings and parties are also catered for in the Georgian Suite.
With good quality, comfortable accommodation in a traditional, historic setting, the hotel is great for a romantic getaway or a relaxing break.

All bedrooms have been refurbished in the last 2 years. All are en suite with power showers and good quality toiletries. Bedrooms offer comfortable bedding with fluffy duvets and crisp linen. Rooms in the Tudor end, whilst smaller, have oak beams throughout (not really suitable for tall guests). Rooms at the north end are more height friendly.
This is a compact room offering excellent value for single travellers on a short stay. There is only one room available of this type.

The hotel is situated on the Old London to Brighton Road (A281), accessible from the north/east via the A23 and the south from the A27. The George is located at the south end of the High Street with free car parking located at the rear. There is additional car parking nearby.
