The Wild boar is a former coaching inn, named after the legend of Richard de Gilpin, who bravely fought a wild boar nearby. The individually designed rooms are all en suite and have a TV. Some rooms feature copper baths or log burners.

Full of character, the Grill and Smokehouse restaurant has a theatrical open kitchen, and serves locally-sourced produce. The Wild Boar also has a bar with real local ales, a wine cellar and an open fire.

Guests at The Wild Boar have free access to the nearby Low Wood Leisure Club, which features a gym, swimming pool and beauty salon. Windermere Golf Club is a short walk away.
