This 17th century, luxury, boutique hotel is the only 4-star hotel in the centre of Lancaster, and is superbly situated in the heart of the city centre.
The hotel was originally built in the 17th century and is the oldest bar/hotel still operating in Lancaster. With luxurious rooms and comfortable furnishings, the hotel is an ideal base for an upmarket stay in the city.
An à la carte breakfast is included in the price, and is a tasty start to the day. The hotel is situated in the very centre of Lancaster, within yards of the castle and all the city's other attractions. St Martin's College (University of Cumbria) and Lancaster University are both an easy commute from the hotel. The hotel regularly welcomes many visiting academics from both institutes.

Our grand suite has been converted from the old drawing room and consists of a separate bed and lounge-style area. This room includes 2 flat-screen TVs, a stereo, stand-alone bath, complimentary fruit and water. The room also includes a small library or DVDs and CDs for your use.
By Car If travelling by car we recommend parking at Parksafe car park which is less than 100 yards from the hotel. Due to Lancaster's one-way system, we advise our guests to park at Parksafe (St George's Quay) first. The car park is clearly signed on the one-way system. From the train station: The train station is approximately 500 yards from the hotel and an easy 5-10 minute walk. From the bus station: The bus station is less than 300 yards away.
