In late 2007/early 2008 the Briarcroft underwent major refurbishment. The work is now almost complete, with only the passageways to finish. This work is being carried out in a discreet manor whilst the hotel is quiet, avoiding disruption to guests. Please read carefully before making a booking: Either a credit card number or deposit of the first night's accommodation, plus 50% of the remainder is required with all bookings, along with the full name and address of the occupant(s) of each room booked. The balance is due on arrival at the hotel. Behaviour: The house reserves the right to refuse (without refund) any guest who on arrival appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or seems to behave in an unreasonable manner. Any guests causing wilful damage, or behaving in an unreasonable manner, will be asked to leave without refund. All guests must consider the peace of others and therefore the house kindly asks that they limit noise in corridors and bedrooms, particularly between the hours of 22:00 - 08:00. Damage to hotel property: Whilst the house appreciates that accidents happen, they ask that all damage be reported immediately. Where the damage is severe you may be require to pay all or part of the repair/replacement cost. Fire: All guests have a duty to help prevent fire, please ensure that all electrical appliances and lights are switched off when rooms are unoccupied. Naked flames and smoking are strictly prohibited. Takeaways: The eating of takeaways within the building is not permitted. Arrivals and Departures: Check-in is between 14:00 and 21:00 (late check-in by arrangement only). Checkout is at 10:00 (a further days' charge will be made for late check-out). Early check-ins are subject to availability/the management's discretion and will be chargeable.
The Briarcroft has 8 en suite rooms; 2 single, 2 double, 3 twins (that convert to 6-foot super-King beds) and one family room for 2 adults and one child (under 16 years of age). To ensure a peaceful night's sleep, the rooms are double-glazed and feature blackout curtains. As a Victorian house the rooms vary in size and shape, however each room is carefully designed to maximise its potential. There is one ground floor room which is 'disabled friendly' but due to the age and nature of the building it may not be suitable for all.
