You can be assured of receiving a warm welcome with complimentary tea or coffee on arrival and some homemade cake if John has had time to bake. At breakfast, the Cornish bacon is dry cured and then oak smoked using traditional methods. The Dartmoor sausages are handmade and come from the local butcher, Bidders at Yelverton. The free-range eggs come from a farm near Cotehele on the far side of the River Tamar.
By Car From Tavistock (4 miles): - Follow the A386 towards Plymouth. On reaching the Horrabridge sign, continue forward. - Shortly after passing the left turn into the village, take the 2nd turn on your right into Old Station Road (you will see the brown tourist sign). - You will find us on the left-hand side. From Plymouth (10 miles): - Follow the A386 towards Tavistock. - On reaching the roundabout at Yelverton, remain on the A386. - After approximately 1.1 miles you will see the Horrabridge sign. - Take the next left turn, follow the road round and you will find us on the right-hand side. If you miss this road take the next left-hand turn. - Old Station road is effectively a loop-road off the A386. By Bus A regular bus service connects Horrabridge to Tavistock, Plymouth and Barnstable [timetable available on request]. The main bus/coach station in Plymouth is at Bretonside; the bus/coach companies operating here offer regional services and national services. The majority of local services go from Royal Parade. Tavistock bus station offers connections to Callington, Greenlands, Bere Ferrers & Bere Alston. The number 83 bus connects Tavistock to Plymouth and goes via Horrabridge. The number 86 connects Barnstable and Plymouth and goes via Tavistock and Horrabridge. Bus stops in Horrabridge are located on Plymouth Road. Just down from Manor Garage you can catch services to Yelverton and Plymouth while the stop opposite will take you to Tavistock and Barnstable.
