A relaxing retreat in the heart of the Lake District, this charming 16th century cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Bowness, one minute's walk from Lake Windermere.
Just a short stroll away from Bowness's shops, cafès, restaurants and attractions, Rose Cottage provides comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. Please note that the cottage is bed and breakfast only, no additional meals can be provided.
Still maintaining many of its original features, the house can be unsuitable for disabled guests or those who have trouble with stairs. Unfortunately no ground floor rooms are available.
Parking is available at a nearby public car park. Permits are available from Rose Cottage. A refundable deposit of GBP 10 is required.

If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

A fixed amount of GBP 20 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable.
All children are welcome. All children under 1 year stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All older children or adults are charged GBP 20.00 per night and person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
Children of any age are welcome. A cot can be provided on request, but prior notification is required for this service. Please leave the details and ages in the comments box on booking. Strictly non-smoking.
A full English breakfast is served each morning. Vegetarians are also catered for.
By Car: - Take the M6. - Exit at junction 36. - Take the A590/591 to Windermere. - At the Windermere Hotel, turn left and follow the road through Windermere village, signposted Bowness and Lake. - At the bottom of the hill, bear left at the mini roundabout and take the first right between St Martin's church and Costa coffee. - Rose Cottage is on your right. By Train: From Windermere Station, you can take a taxi or the 599 bus to Bowness Bay. If your luggage is light, you can walk to the cottage in 30 minutes; downhill into Bowness and turn right at Costa Coffee.
