About The Wheatsheaf Inn hotel

Situated on Broadway in the charming little market town of Shifnal in Shropshire, this Grade II listed inn is an authentic traditional pub with cosy, comfortable accommodation.

Originally built in the 17th century, the Wheatsheaf Inn boasts charming original features and sensitively refurbished accommodation. There are just 2 rooms, both of which have been carefully refurbished in a traditional style. In some parts of the accommodation, 17th century oak floors have been revealed and delicately restored. The original timbers and beams are still in place and remain a traditional feature of the inn.

The pub area also still features huge beams from the building's original timber frame, as well as low ceilings, real open fireplaces and traditional furniture.

The inn is situated on the main road running through the village from north to south. The M54 motorway is within easy reach and the town's railway station is within easy walking distance.

The pub has a warm, cosy and welcoming atmosphere, which has been carefully preserved, like the building's original features. The food menu is constantly evolving and tasty meals are available 7 days a week. The Wheatsheaf Inn's sandwich platter is growing in reputation locally. This dish provides a hearty lunchtime meal and good value for money, with thickly sliced fresh bread and a choice of fresh fillings, as well as a generous helping of salad and crisps. The outside area at the rear of the Wheatsheaf is private, heated and protected from the wind. In warmer weather, guests can enjoy a drink, or some food, outside.
