Boasting 2 AA Rosettes, Toravaig's Iona restaurant offers fine dining, prepared from the freshest locally sourced produce, including game, venison, beef, lamb and seafood. The head chef Andrew Lipp won the Chef Medaille D'Or for Dinner Excellence 2009 at the Scottish Hotel Awards. A lighter lunch menu is also available or you can join us in the afternoon for tea, coffee and home baking in the lounge next to open log fire. With soft furnishings, a real log fire and over-sized chairs and sofas, the inviting lounge is great for a pre-dinner drink. Situated on the ground floor, with plenty of natural daylight, the lounge and the restaurant both overlook the gardens and the Sound of Sleat, as well as Knock Castle, which is only a 15-minute walk away.
By Car: - By the Skye Bridge, take the A87 to Broadford. - Turn left to Armadale, Sleat (A851) on approach to Broadford - Continue towards Armadale for approximnately10 miles. - The hotel is less than one mile from the Tarskavaig junction on the main A851, on the left-hand side. By Air: Inverness: 80 miles Glasgow: 210 miles From either airport, drive up to Skye, getting on the A87 at Invergarry. (Drive up at Spean Bridge (from Glasgow), or drive down when you are in Inverness, following Drumnadrochit and and Invermoriston). By Train: The nearest railway station is Kyle of Lochalsh. There is a bus from Kyle to Broadford, then you will need to take a taxi. By Ferry (from Mallaig to Armadale): The summer ferry runs 6 or 7 times a day (including Sundays although this service is not as frequent) between Mallaig and Armadale on the Isle of Skye. The winter service is limited to 2 journeys a day (Monday to Friday only). Journey time is 25 minutes. Vehicle reservation required. Bikes are carried free of charge.
