The Greyhound Hotel, Cromford Matlock

The beautiful and historic Greyhound Hotel forms the principal building of Cromford's Market Place and today offers free Wi-Fi, free on-site parking and modern, recently refurbished rooms.

In the heart of the village, the Greyhound Hotel is a three-storey Georgian building, constructed in sandstone. It has made a substantial contribution to the history of the local area. Cromford Mill was the world's first factory and was built by Sir Richard Arkwright, inventor of the Water Frame, a machine that revolutionised the cotton industry. The Greyhound provided lodging for visitors to Cromford and was used as the location for festivities organised by Arkwright for his workforce.

Fully refurbished in October 2008, all of the en suite rooms have flat-screen TVs, DVD players and tea/coffee making facilities.

The bar offers a range of traditional ales and lagers, as well as an impressive selection of wines. The restaurant boasts a seasonal menu, featuring traditional cuisine.

Cancellations

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later, the first night will be charged. In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Deposit

A fixed amount of GBP 20 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable.

All children are welcome. All children under 10 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All older children or adults are charged GBP 15.00 per night and person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
