Completed in 2005, the Hotel in der grünen Zitadelle von Magdeburg (hotel in the green citadel of Magdeburg) provides individually decorated rooms with TV, a safe, telephone, (paid) Wi-Fi internet access and stylish bathrooms.
Designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, the Grüne Zitadelle (green citadel) is a unique building project developed on the site of a typical East German high-rise building.

The Hotel in der grünen Zitadelle is an ideal base for sightseeing in Magdeburg, and is very close to the cathedral, the town hall, the River Elbe and the monastery.
The hotel is close to the main tram line running through Magdeburg, or guests can hire bicycles from the hotel to explore the city and surroundings.

Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
These simple yet comfortable Junior Suites feature cosy sitting arrangements. Some of the suites provide direct access to the terrace. They are also suitable for families (extra beds can be added). On request, they can be transformed into festive wedding suites.
Some of these rooms are located on the Breiter Weg side of the building. They overlook the main post office and mostly offer air conditioning. Other rooms face the small and large inner courtyard. Some rooms include a French bed (160 cm wide) and can be used as double rooms or single rooms. Other rooms feature a sitting area or sofa beds.
